Billnäs Young Artists

I have to admit that I find it some way confusing to finally get that first recognition that you have hoped for. I just got email that I was selected to take part in Billnäs Young Artists...Somebody in the jury has taken me seriously this time! I hope this will give me the needed motivation boost. All the works that are exhibited next summer must be new..well working with deadlines can be sometimes a positive thing..there has been some laziness in the air lately ;)

Shootings..

We had a photo shooting day with Nadi Hammouda. So great to share the journey with people who are not afraid to be passioned about what they've choose to do! Since started our collaboration last summer, our friendship and teamwork have give me so much.
..it's funny when you first deside to meet a totally stranger, maybe having some doubts, questioning the life reasons for offering me this person.. And after 15min chatting you realise that you've shared THE connection..and after that you don't need to explain things again, never..

I'm so waiting for to see the material SOON!!

Like Finnish political party said it: No money for postmodernists.

Still wanted to share some thoughts about the previous subject dealing with the freedom of expression.

Getting the works exhibited in galleries is virtually impossible without the grants, and the artist's own substantial financial outlay. Competitive grants in turn may drive an artist to a situation which is undoubtedly contrary to freedom of expression.

It feels like the "happiness Movement" has a mission to ban human art that still has ability to remind us of the existence and makes us weak.

Welfare society is feigning to be some kind of happiness machinery. Every moment must be the climax, lust, happy and prosperous; This can only be achieved by buying the products, services, medicines, etc. For them, happiness is the next to the machinery…to get people to consume. Younger and younger are starting to treat themselves as a marketable product, and estranged from his own individuality.

Choose to be free

My eye was struck today by an interesting painting, which got me curious in finding out more information about the artist behind it.
Her name is Riina Hänninen
I was excited about discovering this courageous artist whose works speak the same language with my art. Not so many here in Finland!
(I couldn't still avoid conflicting emotions when I saw frames, which resembled lot of Gupla Artframes)
Anyways, this internet search lead me in to the case that I've totally missed: http://www.mustekala.info/node/20
Sad..
This example gives cause for concern, whether the artist's freedom of expression is guaranteed in Finland... and gives me a great reason to stay far away from the system!

Unfinished projects

Decoder machine.. I've been looking for a long time a chandelier hanging on my studio wondering what to do with it. Then I found a christmas-tree holder and decided to put the chandelier upside down! So, it's becoming a sculpture also working as a table lamp..

Here is the Art frame that I'm working for the tattoo studio. I took the wood frames from my old work that was waiting for to be renovated. I added the polyurethan form and now I'm covering and glueing the recycled objects on it..

Here is the body for my time machine -vehicle..as you can see, the front weel is bigger than the back weel, I like it!!
